Alpaca & Llama Products

Adequate nutrition is necessary for the camelid’s genetic traits to be manifested and supported. Dr. Norm Evans’ Alpaca and Llama feeds are formulated to meet those nutritional needs.

Evans Camelid S/G/L Kiblet

For alpacas and llamas.

An apple flavored pellet designed to meet the needs of cria growth and female gestation and lactation. It provides the proper balance of protein, energy, vitamins, and minerals for the professional breeding operation.

Feeding Directions
As a starter feed at a rate of 0.33 – 0.50 lb per 50 lb body weight/head/day. Product is recommended as a supplement from 2 – 3 months through 9 – 12 months of age.

For Late Gestation and Lactation
Alpacas – Feed at a rate of 1.0 lb/head/day for the last 4 weeks of gestation and 1.0 – 1.25 lb/head/day for lactation. Feeding rate depends on alpaca size (150 lb average), forage quality, body condition score, and level of milk production.

Llamas – Feed at a rate of 1.25 – 1.50 lb/head/day for the last 4 weeks of gestation and 1.50 to 1.75 lb/head/day for lactation. Feeding rate depends on llama size (300 lb average), forage quality, body condition score, and level of milk production.

The suggested feeding program is intended solely as a guide. The variables of management, environment, and breed may dictate changes in the animals’ requirements.

This feed contains supplemental copper – DO NOT feed to sheep.

Evans Fiber Nutrients E

A daily supplement for superior fiber production.

Evans Fiber Nutrients™ E is formulated to maximize fiber without increasing micron size. The goal is to maximize the animal’s fiber genetic potential to the fullest and maintain the strong, healthy, superior fiber during various stresses. Incorporation of these nutrients into the daily diet should lessen the effects of stresses sometimes associated with traveling, showing, and even grooming.

Feeding Directions
Alpacas 1 oz/head/day
Llamas 2 oz/head/day
Crias (40 to 50 lb) 1/2 oz/head/day
For non-food producing camelids only.

Evans Vitamin-Mineral Blend E™

A daily supplement for superior fiber production.

Complements alpaca and llama bagged feed supplements formulated by Dr. Evans. Several field studies with this blend indicated total daily consumption by either alpacas or llamas would average between 0.34 & 0.50 oz per day. Depending on forage quality and availability, consumption may vary from intake to almost 1 oz per day (1 oz approximates 1 level teaspoon). 1 oz can satisfy about 20% of the major mineral needs such as calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, etc, 50% of needed selenium and nearly 100% of the suggested vitamin intake.

Feeding Directions
Feed free-choice or top-dress 0.25 to 0.40 oz per head per day.

For non-food producing camelids only.

Suggested use is 4 months. The suggested feeding program is intended solely as a guide. The variables of management, environment and breed may dictate changes in the animals’ requirements.

Available in a 25 lb pail.

CAUTION: This feed contains supplemental copper. Do not feed to sheep or copper sensitive animals.
