Our relationships with industry leaders and associations

Industry Support

Kent Nutrition Group (KNG) enjoys a number of close associations with principled organizations which share a history, ideals, or goals with our company or Kent and Blue Seal brands. The following list of affiliations is by no means exhaustive, but a good representation.

4-H

As the largest youth development organization in America, 4-H is offered through Cooperative Extension (a community of more than 100 public universities across the country) and the USDA.

4-H has programs in every county in every state. They provide mentoring, in-school and after-school programs, hands-on camps and clubs, leadership development and healthy living skills. 4-H focuses on four areas of personal development in youth: head, heart, hands and health.

American Feed Industry Association

The American Feed Industry Association (AFIA) represents business, legislative and regulatory interests of the animal feed industry. It has more than 600 members-companies that include livestock, feed and pet food manufacturers, pharmaceutical businesses, ingredient suppliers, equipment manufacturers and companies that supply other products, services and supplies to feed manufacturers.

More than 75 percent of commercial feed in the U.S. is manufactured by AFIA members.

IFeeder: Institute for Feed Education & Research (www.ifeeder.org)

AFIA founded this non-profit institute in 2009 to promote safe and sustainable feed production through education and research. It funds animal feed and pet food research to strengthen AFIA’s legislative and regulatory positions. IFeeder is in Arlington, VA.

American Horse Council

Nearly 10,000 Iowa beef producers and associations are members of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA), which includes 97 active county organizations. Their mission is to grow Iowa’s beef business through advocacy, leadership and education. They do this by identifying regulatory issues that affect Iowa cattle farmers, holding promotional activities at various local events, and organizing other educational opportunities.

Iowa Cattlemen’s Association

Nearly 10,000 Iowa beef producers and associations are members of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association (ICA), which includes 97 active county organizations. Their mission is to grow Iowa’s beef business through advocacy, leadership and education. They do this by identifying regulatory issues that affect Iowa cattle farmers, holding promotional activities at various local events, and organizing other educational opportunities.

Membership is offered to producers and friends of the industry. The ICA is associated with the National Cattlemen’s Beef Association and the Iowa Beef Expo.

Iowa State University Foundation

The Foundation is the fundraising arm of Iowa State University, matching donors’ interests with the university’s needs. Currently the Foundation is in the midst of its "Forever True, For Iowa State" campaign to raise $1.5 billion by 2021 for scholarships, facilities, research and faculty recruitment.

National Cattlemen’s Beef Association

The National Cattlemen’s Beef Association (NCBA) is the marketing and trade association for America’s cattle farmers and ranchers. Representing more than 175,000 cattle producers and feeders, NCBA works to advance the U.S. cattle business and grow the global demand for beef.

The association also acts on behalf of the beef community to overcome regulatory, environmental and economic challenges.

Iowa Charolais Breeders Association

The Iowa Charolais Breeders Association (ICBA) has nearly 50 members who are dedicated to cattle promotion, breed improvement and education. They produce Charolais bulls and females to help cattlemen increase profits with higher-quality red meat yields and more pounds.

Junior Members of the ICBA are 21 and younger and compete in show events throughout the year, including the Charolais Junior Nationals at the Iowa State Fairgrounds in June.

National FFA Foundation

Future Farmers of America (FFA) is a youth organization that prepares its members for leadership and careers in the science, business and technology of agriculture.

The Foundation is a separately-registered nonprofit organization that secures donations and other resources for agricultural education and FFA, to help its nearly 670,000 current student members.

National Junior Swine Association

The National Junior Swine Association (NJSA) is the largest youth livestock organization in the world, with more than 13,500 members under the age of 21. NJSA members compete in shows around the country, showing and raising purebred hogs while engaging in programs to improve leadership skills.

Its members advocate to advance the overall health of the swine industry, under the National Swine Registry’s general leadership.

National Pork Producers Council

Governed by a 15-member Board, the  National Pork Producers Council (NPPC) represents 42 state associations and works to position the U.S. pork industry as a consistent supplier of high-quality pork in domestic and international markets.

The NPPC advocates for the livelihood of the country’s 60,000 pork producers.

New England Equine Medical & Surgical Center

The New England Equine Medical & Surgical Center is a private state-of-the-art veterinary referral hospital conveniently located in Dover, NH. Their talented and compassionate doctors and staff bring the highest quality diagnostic and therapeutic care of horses to the New England region and beyond.

New England Equine houses a wide variety of services under one roof, including surgery, internal medicine, lameness and sports medicine, diagnostic imaging, ophthalmology, physical therapy and a number of other skills, making it the most comprehensive diagnostic and treatment facility available.

Team Purebred

Team Purebred allows members 21 and younger who are interested in Berkshire, Chester White, Poland China and Spotted swine to participate in national and regional junior shows and educational contests in 46 states.

One of the fastest-growing youth livestock organizations in the nation, Team Purebred provides career opportunities and leadership events for its more than 3,000 current members.

TNT Equine, PLLC is a full service equine ambulatory practice providing Southern Maine, as well as the New Hampshire Seacoast and Eastern Lakes Region with 24-Hour Emergency Care, Preventative Medicine, Reproduction Services, Internal Medicine and Sports Medicine as well as routine and surgical Dentistry.

Select services are available to equine patients in Massachusetts as well. TNT Equine puts horses first. This means that the first and foremost goal is to ensure that the patients entrusted to us, their owners, and caretakers have access to the most up-to-date, accurate and comprehensive medical information available.
