Jennifer’s #MyTrustStory for Kent Feeds July 19, 2021 July 19, 2021 When Jennifer Savard first brought her horse named Thunder home, she was told he was about 15 years old and had an array of health issues. The winters on Prince Edward Island off the east coast of Canada where Savard lives were especially hard on him. Troubled by how much weight he was losing, she turned to her vet who recommended Sentinel horse feed. βI was so worried about him,β Savard recalls. βBut he started putting weight back on right away and just had more pep. Heβs over 30 years old now, and yet he immediately comes running for his feed when I call him. He might be out of breath but he wants to eat his supper!β Savard says Thunderβs activity level and alertness improved after starting him on Sentinel β so much so that he joins in with her other horses in games of hide-and-seek. βMy daughter and I go riding and we have this stand of trees in the middle of the field,β she says. βThunder and another horse have their backs turned to us and weβll hide from them, but Thunder will come tearing around the corners at a canter and find us every time.β Savard says she started Thunder on Sentinel Senior but now gives him the Performance feed. She has been so impressed by the changes sheβs seen in him that she has offered to buy bags of Sentinel at her local dealer and send them to other horse owners who live more remotely. βThatβs how much I believe in this product,β she says. βIf I couldnβt buy (Sentinel), I donβt know what Iβd do.β Savard says Thunder βlicks his bowl cleanβ and she has to shoo her other horses away from it. βHeβs the only one who gets Sentinel because heβs the old guy,β she says. βBut they all want to eat his food.β Facebook Twitter LinkedIn Print Email Related Posts Jillianβs #MyTrustStory for Kent Feeds Read how Rooster and Forrest β Jillianβs rehabilitated standardbreds β inspired the recent opening of Peaceful Haven Farm, where horses can regain a healthy mind, body and soul, thanks in… Read More Charlyβs #MyTrustStory for Kent Feeds Barrel-racing quarter horses, frisbee-obsessed aussie/collies and an O.G. lady (a.k.a. an elderly layer hen) named Gwenny β they mean everything to Charly, the teacher turned stay-at-home mom who runs Forever… Read More Meet Mary Schroeder β Senior Formulations Manager Mary Schroeder oversees a formulation team that works with Kentβs nutritionists to develop new products, deliver new formulas to manufacturing facilities and evaluate costs for each ingredient.
