These feeding guidelines are a starting point. Adjust feeding amount to your dog’s individual requirements to achieve optimal condition and weight. Highly active, working, or performance dogs may require 25% - 100% more food than for adult maintenance feeding. This chart represents the amount of Active Dog Food per day. During periods of increased activity or when consumption increases, multiple smaller meals per day are recommended. Feeding Active Dog Food for the first time? Mix increasing amounts of Active Dog Food with decreasing amounts of the old food over a seven-day period. For late pregnancy or nursing dogs, keep food available at all times. After whelping, nursing females may require 2-3 times normal adult maintenance intake. For puppies, begin weaning at 3-4 weeks of age by offering Active Dog Food moistened with warm water. Feed as much as they will eat three times per day until fully weaned. Slowly reduce added water over several days until feeding it dry. Once fed dry, for most puppies, Active Dog Food can be made available at all times.
