For free-choice feeding in lick wheel feeders, the following precautions must be observed.

  • Cattle should be well fed and watered before free-choice feeding of liquid feeds. Starved animals should not have access to this supplement. Do not offer to cattle on overgrazed pastures as adequate roughage and/or grain should be available at all times.
  • Locate feeder away from water and where cattle congregate. One wheel should be available for each 25 head.
  • If cattle consume more than 3 lb per head per day, reduce wheel numbers and/or relocate feeder. If the feeder is allowed to run out, reintroduce the animals to the supplement slowly.
  • Provide unlimited drinking water and Kent mineral free choice.
  • Do not free-choice to horses.
  • Do not free-choice in open tanks or troughs to any livestock.

NOTE: Liquid supplements should be recirculated periodically to prevent layering and settling of ingredients. It’s also good management to wash out all liquid supplement storage tanks and lick tanks annually.

Warning

This feed should be used only in accordance with directions on this label. Feed to ruminants only.
