Andy Platner

Platner Show Pigs focuses on the production of quality pigs that compete and win in show rings across the country. The operation of about 120 sows, owned and operated by Andy Platner, is located outside of Mechanicsville, Iowa. It consists of both high-quality purebreds and crossbreds. Andy began breeding and selling high-quality show pigs upon completion of his studies at Iowa State University. Andy works with anyone and everyone who reaches out with a question about their show pigs. Andy Platner is proud to be "all about the kids!"

Platner Show Pigs enjoys ongoing success at county, state, and national shows. Andy says one of the most memorable achievements to date was raising the record-setting gilt that sold at the 2014 Crossbred Classic.
