OMEGATIN is a proportionally balanced, complete, 15% protein, 20% fat, pelleted, nutrient-dense horse feed with an exceptionally low level of starch (13.5%).
20% fat for high calories and low carbohydrates. The low starch level is approximately 50% less than many popular “rice-bran” products, made possible due to highly digestible and specialized proprietary ingredients.
Low starch means reduced risk of gas colic, laminitis, and a lower glycemic response.
Chelated trace minerals for natural bioavailability of trace minerals critical to good health and optimum performance.
Flaxseed to provide omega fatty acids. A soft pellet means none of the digestive and feeding problems associated with a meal; and ingredients are not exposed to the high temperatures and pressures of extrusion. It is ideal for horses with few or sensitive teeth.
Selenium yeast which has shown to have higher retention and digestibility then sodium selenite.
Selenium and vitamin E enhance the immune system, improve reproduction, overall health, performance, and appearance.
Locked formula ensures product quality and consistency with no least costing or “best-costing” of ingredients. NO substituted ingredients to challenge cecum bacteria, which improves digestibility and helps prevent cecal colic.
Proper calcium-to-phosphorus ratio helps prevent one heavily fortified nutrient from interfering with the availability of other nutrients.
Supplemental lysine, methionine, and threonine (the three most-limiting amino acids in an equine diet) offer the option of feeding as a complete or a supplement.
A natural product designed to reduce ammonia odors, especially beneficial in confined situations. Research-proven for peace of mind.
Corn Germ, Wheat Middlings, Soybean Hulls, Dehydrated Alfalfa Meal, Soybean Meal, Corn Distillers Dried Grains with Solubles, Flax Seed, Monocalcium Phosphate, Dicalcium Phosphate, Yeast Culture, Calcium Carbonate, Vegetable Oil, Salt, Lecithin, Vitamin E Supplement, Rice Hulls, d-Biotin, Vitamin B12 Supplement, Calcium L-Ascorbyl-2-Polyphosphate, Niacin Supplement, Calcium d-Pantothenate, Riboflavin Supplement, L-Threonine, DL-Methionine, Vitamin A Supplement, Choline Chloride, Pyridoxine Hydrochloride, Thiamine Mononitrate, Vitamin D3 Supplement, Menadione Sodium Bisulfite Complex, Folic Acid, Natural and Artificial Flavors, Natural Mixed Tocopherols and Citric Acid (preservatives), Rosemary Extract, Propionic, Acetic, Benzoic, & Sorbic Acid (preservatives), Zinc Sulfate, Manganese Sulfate, Copper Sulfate, Ferrous Sulfate, Selenium Yeast, Sodium Selenite, Zinc Amino Acid Complex, Manganese Amino Acid Complex, Copper Amino Acid Complex, Cobalt Glucoheptonate, Calcium Iodate, Cobalt Carbonate, Zinc Methionine Complex, Yucca Schidigera Extract, L-Lysine.
As a top-dress, OMEGATIN may be fed at a minimum of 1/2 pound up to 3 pounds per animal daily along with the grain mix and roughage.
Provide clean water and salt free-choice.
The suggested feeding program is intended solely as a guide. The variables associated with management, environment, and breed may dictate changes in the animals’ requirements.
OMEGATIN may be fed to most other species of animals but DO NOT FEED TO SHEEP.

So far I love what it has done for my mare, intentionally bought it to help my old horse gain. Started adding a scoop to all my horses feed and watched their body conditions improve! Also love the packaging of the 20 lb tub. Only question is does it ever expire and where can I find the manufacturing date?
KNG Service – August 4, 2020
Thank you for your review! We’re happy you’ve had success with Omegatin. Yes, it does have an expiration date, with a “best if used by” date of nine months after manufacture. You can find the lot code on the sticker on the side of the tub. Please refer to this PDF that explains the lot code. Have a great day, and thanks again!
